USING EDUCATION AS A FORCE FOR GOOD IN THE WORLD
THE KINDRED PROJECT
Here at SIS we strive to encourage an understanding of the interdependence of individuals, societies and cultures. By offering a diverse curricular and extra-curricular programme of cultural experiences and community services, we aim to increase an awareness of the world in which we live and promote respect between different cultures and ways of life.
In line with this, SIS set up The Kindred Project (KP) in 2010, a student-led Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) with the mission of promoting education as a force for good by enabling and empowering the voice of youth as agents of positive change within their communities and beyond.
To achieve this, KP is currently running a four year project called “Force for Good”, involving different community partners in Ecuador, Morocco, Spain and Uganda. The project’s goal is to contribute towards the sustainable development of these communities by means of increasing the quality and access to education, supporting social entrepreneurship models, as well as promoting values of global citizenship.
Through “Force for Good” numerous hands-on activities have been put into action to help us attain our goal, including student-led events & campaigns, social networking, expeditions, and deep integration with SIS’ unique Global Citizenship Programme, which runs through all academic subjects.
