Professional Development at the school is well supported, complemented by a strong internal support programme.

We are looking for flexible, outstanding teachers who go above and beyond to make the learning experience for the student truly exceptional. As an Apple distinguished school, a commitment to using IT within the classroom is essential. Experiential learning and global citizenship are both core to our philosophy and, along with service learning, these elements drive our curriculum.

We are a high-energy school with an extensive extra curricular programme, including our own student led NGO, The Kindred Project. Applicants are encouraged, in their letter of application, to highlight how they might enhance our thriving boarding, extra-curricular, service and global citizenship programmes.

Application Process: If you meet these criteria, are enthusiastic about teaching and learning and have the drive and passion to get the most from our students, then we would very much welcome your application.

Examination reports have commented on the significant degree of adjustment that TOK teaching demands and the Core Leader will be expected to provide guidance and ongoing support, especially to the less experienced members of the team.

The TOK teacher plays a crucial role in assisting candidates in the production of their essay and presentation and the Core Leader will play a key role in ensuring that this assistance is applied effectively and consistently by all teachers in the team.

The position includes a significant TOK teaching commitment in both IB years. The person appointed will be responsible for the assessment of a number of their own TOK students as well as overseeing the assessment conducted by the other TOK teachers in the team. There is an expectation that the EE coordinator will drive to instill intellectual initiative and rigour in students as well as the development of skills necessary to completing a high quality Extended Essay.

Most diploma teachers are expected to supervise a number of extended essays and, as with TOK, they will have varying degrees of experience in doing this. The EE coordinator position will involve ongoing training and support of teachers in the supervisory role, as well as encouraging opportunities for sharing good practice. The EE Coordinator will organise and deliver workshops to students on organization, research and writing skills, with the support of members of the English department, and will be required to create an SIS EE Guide.

Applicants for this role will be required to teach classes in their subject area of specialism.

Application Process: If you meet these criteria, are enthusiastic about teaching and learning and have the drive and passion to get the most from our students, then we would very much welcome your application.
